Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common DracoCam questions

🚀 Getting Started

What cameras are compatible with DracoCam?

DracoCam supports most IP cameras that use standard protocols like ONVIF, RTSP, or HTTP streams. This includes cameras from major brands like Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Ubiquiti, and many others. USB webcams with UVC support are also compatible.

Do I need special hardware to run DracoCam?

DracoCam can run on most modern computers, including Windows PCs, Mac, Linux systems, and even Raspberry Pi devices. For best performance, we recommend at least 4GB RAM and a multi-core processor. The exact requirements depend on the number of cameras and recording quality.

How many cameras can I connect?

The number of cameras depends on your plan. Basic supports 1 camera, Plus supports 2 cameras, and Pro supports up to 5 cameras. You can also add additional cameras to any plan for an extra monthly fee. Your hardware capabilities will ultimately determine the practical maximum.

Can I access my cameras remotely?

Yes! DracoCam includes secure remote access through our web dashboard. You can view live streams, review recordings, and manage settings from anywhere with an internet connection using any web browser.

💾 Storage and Recording

How much storage space do I need?

Storage requirements vary based on recording quality and frame rate. As a rough estimate, 1080p recording uses about 1-2GB per camera per day. Your plan includes storage limits (Basic: 20GB, Plus: 60GB, Pro: 120GB), and older videos are automatically deleted when storage is full to make room for new recordings.

Where are recordings stored?

Recordings are stored in DracoCam's secure cloud storage according to your plan's storage limit. Your recordings are automatically backed up and accessible from anywhere through the web dashboard.

How long are recordings kept?

Recordings are kept based on your plan's storage limit. When storage is full, older videos are automatically deleted to make room for new recordings. Each plan includes different storage capacity (Basic: 20GB, Plus: 60GB, Pro: 120GB).

Can I download recordings?

Absolutely! You can download individual recordings or bulk export multiple files. Recordings are saved in standard MP4 format, compatible with any video player. Batch downloads are compressed for faster transfer.

🔐 Security and Privacy

How secure is my video data?

DracoCam uses industry-standard security including AES encryption for stored data, TLS encryption for data in transit, and secure authentication protocols. Your videos are encrypted both in transit and at rest.

Who can access my cameras?

DracoCam secures your cameras with authenticated access — only you can view and control your cameras through the dashboard.

Is my data shared with third parties?

No, we never share your video data with third parties. Your recordings are accessible only to your account. See our Privacy Policy for complete details on data handling.

Can I run DracoCam offline?

Yes, DracoCam can operate in offline mode for local recording and monitoring. An internet connection is only required for remote access, cloud features, and software updates.
